CRISIS
The WPC runs out of financial support funding at the end of December 2010.Ê Besides the cost of liquid nitrogen which runs to $12,000 a year, one of the crystorage units is failing and a new one will cost $15,000. These needs totalling $27,000 are critical. Please help to save the only major genetic resource of Phytophthora, one of the most important destroyers of important crops and native forests. The situation is desperate. After 50 years the only major collection of this important plant pathogen will cease to exist. Please write to Bart Gordon, Chairman, Science and Technology Committee, House of Representatives, 2306 Rayburn HOB, Washington DC, 20515, USA. Fax 202 225-6887
